The actions of man in the last centuries has had such an impact on our planet that we are now talking about a new geological epoch, the Anthropocene.
Population growth, super cities, excessive burning of fossil fuels and disruption of nature are among contributing factors to the global warming. Because of the permanent effects of man on the biosphere; the Earth's crust, the atmosphere and the oceans, we are now talking about a new epoch the Anthropocene.

Many artists are preoccupied by the effects of man on nature and the environment. The exhibition Archeology for the Anthropocene consists of works by five photographers related to the subject.

Aðgerðir mannsins undanfarnar aldir hafa breytt heiminum svo mikið að farið er að tala um nýtt jarðsögulegt tímabil, Anthropocene.
Fólksfjölgun, ofurborgir, gríðarlegur bruni jarðefnaeldsneytis og rask á lífríki eru meðal þeirra þátta sem hafa haft áhrif á hlýnun jarðar. Vegna þessara varanlegu áhrifa mannsins á lífhvolfið; jarðskorpuna, lofthjúpin og höfin, er farið að tala um Mannöldina eða Anthropocene.
